AFTER BRIEF PURSUIT, SUSPECT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN CAROLINE COUNTY

Denton, MD - On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, a Deputy from the Caroline County Sheriff's Office was conducting traffic enforcement on Federalsburg Highway in the area of Beck Road in Denton, Caroline County, Maryland. 

A Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle for traveling at a high rate of speed, at which point the driver, identified as Camron Alfred Georgia, fled the area heading Northbound on Federalsburg Highway in the direction of Shore Highway. 

After a brief pursuit, the driver then pulled over prior to Shore Highway and surrendered to Deputies.  

A K9 scan of the vehicle was conducted, which yielded a positive alert. The vehicle was subsequently searched and two handguns and suspected CDS (Cocaine) were located in the vehicle, in addition to prescription pills (Vyvanse) both of which are schedule II narcotics. 

Cameron Alfred Georgia was placed under arrest and taken before the District Court Commissioner, where he was committed to the Caroline County Detention Center on no bond.  Cameron Alfred Georgia was charged with the following:  


  • CDS: POSSESS-NOT CANNABIS

  • CDS POSS W/INT TO DISTRIBUTE

  • FIREARM/DRUG TRAFFICKING CRIME

  • FIREARM USE/FEL-VIOLENT CRIME

On January 4, 2024, Cameron Alfred Georgia was taken before Carolina County Judge Joseph Riley, where his bond was changed from NO BOND to Released on Recognizance.
