Wicomico County, MD - On April 17, 2025, Alonzo Parker Jr., a resident of Salisbury, Maryland, was sentenced to fifteen years in prison following his conviction for child sexual abuse. Chief Judge Kathleen L. Beckstead of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County delivered the sentence, which was the maximum allowed under the established sentencing guidelines for Parker Jr.'s offenses.

Parker Jr., age 60, faced multiple charges, including Sexual Abuse of a Minor, Third-Degree and Fourth-Degree Sexual Offenses, and Second-Degree Assault. These charges stemmed from incidents that occurred between 1998 and 2002, during which he abused a minor under his supervision at a local church.

State's Attorney Jamie L. Dykes commented on the impact of the sentence, highlighting the lasting effects on the survivor and the community's commitment to confronting such acts. Dykes expressed hope that the sentence would bring a sense of peace to the survivor.

The case resulted from the dedicated efforts of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, led by Sergeant J. Seichepine, and the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center. The prosecution was managed by Senior Assistant State's Attorney Michael Calabrese.

After serving his prison term, Parker Jr. will be subject to three years of supervised probation with sex offender requirements and will be required to register as a Tier III sexual offender indefinitely.
