Annapolis Man Arrested in St. Michaels for Burglary

Talbot County, MD - On March 24, 2026, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary in progress. The incident occurred in the 200 block of Madison Avenue in St. Michaels, Maryland.

The victim reported that an acquaintance was attempting to forcibly open a locked rear door.

Deputies arrived at the scene with assistance from the St. Michaels Police Department and the Maryland State Police. They located and arrested 54-year-old Thomas James Brew of Annapolis, Maryland.

Brew had kicked in the rear door, causing excessive damage to the property. He then entered the residence looking for the victim.

Authorities determined that Brew was intoxicated at the time of the incident. He was subsequently charged with burglary, malicious destruction of property, trespassing, and disorderly conduct. Brew was transported to the Talbot County Central Booking facility for processing.

Following an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, he was held without bond.
