ASSAULT INCIDENT REPORTED IN CAMBRIDGE, MARYLAND

Cambridge, MD - Cambridge police officers responded to an assault call on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at approximately 4:14 p.m. in the 1000 block of Willowmere Lane.


According to an official report, officers made contact with the victim upon arrival, who alleged that Wydel George Jackson, a 65-year-old resident of Cambridge, Maryland, was involved in an altercation during which he physically assaulted them.


The victim stated that Jackson grabbed them by the neck using both hands, causing difficulty breathing and a temporary loss of oxygen.


Further details revealed that Jackson allegedly proceeded to grab the victim by the neck again, throwing them against a washing machine and striking them in the eye. Officers at the scene reportedly observed visible injuries on the victim, corroborating their account of the incident.


Jackson was subsequently placed under arrest and taken to the Cambridge Police Department for processing. He was later released on personal recognizance.


Authorities confirmed that Jackson faces multiple charges, including the following:  

  • Assault in the First Degree  
  • Assault in the Second Degree  
  • Reckless Endangerment
