Berlin Man Arrested on Child Exploitation Charges

BERLIN, MD - On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Maryland State Police arrested a Berlin, Maryland man on multiple charges related to child exploitation. Alexander Crum, 29, of Berlin, Maryland, faces charges including sexual solicitation of a minor, solicitation of child pornography, and distribution of child pornography.

He is also charged with knowingly permitting sexual solicitation of a minor and contributing to the condition of a child. Following his arrest, Crum was transported to the Worcester County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond.

The arrest occurred at Crum's place of employment in Berlin and was carried out by the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division Eastern Region and Berlin Barrack. They received assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Marshals Service.

The investigation began after authorities received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The report indicated financial transactions linked to child sex abuse material, which initiated the police inquiry.

As part of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at Crum's residence. Investigators seized multiple electronic devices, which will undergo forensic analysis.
