Bethany Beach Police Arrest Two Following Narcotics Investigation

Bethany Beach, DE - On March 26, 2026, members of the Bethany Beach Police Department, assisted by the Delaware State Police Governor's Task Force, executed a search warrant at a property located on the 800 block of Garfield Parkway. 


The warrant was obtained following an investigation into 47-year-old William E. Lewis and 45-year-old Amy J. Oliver regarding the use of illegal narcotics at the residence.


During a search of Lewis, Oliver, and the property, officers located multiple items related to illegal drug activity. Discovered items included a digital scale, a microwave containing crack cocaine residue, several containers with a white powdery residue, drug paraphernalia, and unsecured firearms.


William E. Lewis was arrested and charged with multiple offenses. His charges include two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and maintaining a drug property. 


He was also charged with the unlawful operation of a clandestine laboratory, second-degree conspiracy, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, three counts of unlawfully dealing with a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 


Lewis was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $69,800 cash bond.


Amy J. Oliver was arrested and faces several charges as well. Her charges include possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, unlawful operation of a clandestine laboratory, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and second-degree conspiracy. 


Additionally, she was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, three counts of unlawfully dealing with a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 


Oliver was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $33,300 cash bond.
