Bishopville Woman Arrested on Felony Charges for Crimes Against a Vulnerable Adult
Dagsboro, DE - The Dagsboro Police Department has arrested 50-year-old Patty Gray of Bishopville, Maryland, in connection with an investigation involving a vulnerable adult. Gray faces multiple charges, including Crimes Against a Vulnerable Adult and Felony Theft.
In November 2025, officers responded to reports of fraud near Swamp Road and Lingo Street. An investigation revealed that personal property had been unlawfully taken from a victim who resides in a supervised group home. Under state law, the victim is considered a vulnerable adult.
Detectives worked with group home staff and partnering agencies during the inquiry. On Friday, January 16, 2026, Gray was taken into custody in Dagsboro and transported to the Millsboro Police Department.
Gray was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 on several charges. These include Crimes Against a Vulnerable Adult (Class C Felony), Identity Theft (Class D Felony), Theft $1500 or Greater (Class G Felony), Unlawful Use of a Payment Card Over $1500 (Class G Felony), and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class B Misdemeanor).
Following her arraignment, Gray was released on her own recognizance and ordered to have no contact with the victim.
