State of MD - Maryland State Police have arrested a Prince George's County man following an investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography.

The suspect has been identified as Braeden E. Swisher, 26, of Bowie, Maryland.

Swisher was arrested and charged with six counts each of distribution and possession of child pornography.

The charges were filed in consultation with the Office of the State's Attorney in Prince George's County. He was transported to the Prince George's County Detention Center and is awaiting a hearing before a court commissioner.

The investigation began in October 2025 after Maryland State Police received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Investigators focused on the possession and viewing of child pornography, which led to the identification of Swisher as the suspect.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Child Exploitation Unit executed an authorized search warrant at Swisher's residence in Bowie this morning. He was interviewed and arrested at the scene without incident.

The Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit coordinates the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This task force is a combined law enforcement effort involving police departments across Maryland. It is made possible in part through grant funds provided by the Governor's Office of Crime Prevention and Policy and a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Task force investigators work to identify individuals involved in child pornography and related crimes that victimize children.
