BRIDGEVILLE COUPLE ARRESTED AND CHARGED IN RECENT SEAFORD BURGLARY

Seaford, DE - The Delaware State Police have successfully taken two suspects into custody following a burglary in Seaford, Delaware last week. Robert Layton, 33, and Jasmine Rokos, 31, both residents of Bridgeville, Delaware, face charges related to the break-in and theft of valuable items from a local home.


On May 23, 2025, troopers were dispatched to the 24000 block of German Road in Seaford, Delaware, after receiving a report of a burglary. Upon arrival, police discovered that unknown individuals had illegally entered the unoccupied property earlier in the week.


The burglars made off with electronics, power tools, automotive parts, welding equipment, and fishing rods, collectively valued at over $12,000. Investigative efforts led detectives to identify Layton and Rokos as the responsible parties, prompting the issuance of arrest warrants.


On May 26, 2025, the Delaware State Police, in collaboration with the Bridgeville Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence on Laverty Lane in Bridgeville, Delaware.


Layton and Rokos were at this location and were apprehended without incident. During the search, detectives recovered the stolen goods, along with several firearms, including a .410-gauge shotgun, a .22 caliber rifle, and a stolen .25 caliber handgun.


Additionally, drug paraphernalia was found on the premises. Both suspects were taken to Troop 4, where they were formally charged.


Layton, who is a convicted felon, and a person prohibited, was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $80,600 secured bond.

  • Theft $1,500 or Greater (Felony)
  • Selling Stolen Property Valued over $1,500 or 2 or More Prior Convictions (Felony)
  • Receiving Stolen Property Valued over $1,500 (Felony)
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm/Destructive Weapon if Previously Convicted of a Violent Felony (Felony) - 3 counts
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited Prior Violent Crime or Felony (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia


Rokos was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and released on her own recognizance.


  • Burglary 2nd Degree (Felony)
  • Theft $1,500 or Greater (Felony)
  • Selling Stolen Property Valued over $1,500 or 2 or More Prior Convictions (Felony)
  • Receiving Stolen Property Valued over $1,500 (Felony)
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
