CAMBRIDGE ANNOUNCES THEY'VE ACQUIRED A MADVAC BRAND ALL TERRAIN LITTER VACUUM SIDEWALK SWEEPER
Dorchester County, MD - The City of Cambridge has made a significant move to promote cleanliness and enhance the aesthetic appeal of its public spaces by acquiring a state-of-the-art Madvac brand "All-Terrain Litter Vacuum LR50" sidewalk sweeper. This compact machine, measuring just 48 inches wide, is designed to efficiently collect trash from sidewalks and other narrow areas, such as pathways in parks.
The Madvac LR50 provides versatile cleaning solutions with three distinct options. It features a conventional 48-inch-wide ground sweeper for comprehensive litter collection. Additionally, a flexible robotic front-end hose, controlled by an interior joystick, allows for easy navigation through various terrains. For hard-to-reach areas, such as beneath park benches, the sweeper includes a rear 15-foot retractable "wander hose" that can be operated manually, ensuring that no corner is left unattended.
Safety and operator comfort are priorities in the design of the Madvac. It is equipped with a rear camera for enhanced visibility, fully legal street lighting for operation during various times of the day, and a fire extinguisher for emergencies. The enclosed cab, fitted with vinyl doors, creates a comfortable workspace with heating and cooling options, making it suitable for all weather conditions. The City's Department of Public Works plans to use this advanced sweeper mainly in the downtown business area, in collaboration with Cambridge Main Street and local businesses.
