The Rescue Fire Company (Station 1), which was the primary responding fire department, along with several assisting agencies, received the alarm and dispatched a total of 45 firefighters to the scene.

The smoke alarms in the residence activated, providing an early warning that allowed all occupants to escape unharmed.

The fire caused significant damage, with an estimated loss of $350,000-$250,000 attributed to the structure and $100,000 to the contents (estimates are made by the State Fire Marshal's Office).
