Cambridge Man Arrested Following Incident at Local Walmart
Dorchester County, MD - On January 1, 2026, at approximately 9:07 PM, officers from the Cambridge Police Department responded to a trespassing complaint at the local Walmart in Cambridge, Maryland.
Store employees reported that a man had occupied the baby changing room for roughly four hours and refused to vacate the premises. The subject was identified as 74-year-old Anthony Howard Lee of Cambridge, Maryland.
Upon entering the baby changing room, officers located Lee surrounded by scattered personal items. Authorities attempted to communicate with the subject.
Lee reportedly charged at the officers while attempting to ignite a lighter. He subsequently attempted to barricade himself inside the room by closing the door.
The situation escalated when Lee charged a second time with the lighter lit, attempting to burn the responding officers. He also raised canned food items in a threatening manner towards the officers.
Despite commands to lower the items, Lee refused to comply. Officers deployed a department-issued Taser to subdue the subject safely.
Lee was arrested and transported to the University of MD Shore Medical Center for evaluation following the Taser deployment. He was then processed at the Cambridge Police Department.
Anthony Howard Lee has been charged with Trespass on Private Property, Failure to Obey a Lawful Order, and three counts of Assault in the 2nd Degree. Judge Philip N. Tirabassi has ordered Lee to be held without bond.
