CAMBRIDGE MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING K-9 SNIFF OF HIS VEHICLE

Talbot County, MD - On May 11, 2025, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on White Marsh Road near Delahay Drive in Trappe, Talbot County, Maryland.


The driver was identified as Andrew Phillip Diefenderfer, a 39-year-old resident of Cambridge, Maryland. Deputies utilized a K-9 from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office to conduct an exterior sniff of the vehicle, which indicated the presence of an illegal narcotic.


As a result of the K-9's alert, the deputies had probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, they recovered a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia from inside the vehicle.


Diefenderfer was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Talbot County Central Booking facility for processing and an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.


Diefenderfer was subsequently released on his own recognizance.


It is important to note that Diefenderfer also has active charges in Dorchester County for similar offenses.
