Cambridge Man Arrested on Arson Threat Charges

CAMBRIDGE, MD - Cambridge Police Department officers responded to a disturbance call on August 31, 2025, that resulted in the arrest of a local man on arson threat charges.
Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Douglas Street at approximately 11:38 a.m. following reports of an unknown problem. Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel were flagged down by an off-duty CPD officer who was assisting a victim at the intersection of Douglas Street and Pine Street.
The victim reported being involved in an argument with Delmartis Ronnell Bryant, a 40-year-old Cambridge resident. During the altercation, Bryant allegedly made threatening statements about assaulting the victim.
The suspect also made statements indicating that "the house will be up in flames," according to the police report.
Bryant approached responding officers while they were speaking with the victim. Police reported that Bryant became disruptive and belligerent during the interaction.
Officers placed Bryant under arrest and transported him to the Cambridge Police Department for processing. Following processing, Bryant was transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections where he is being held without bond.
He has been charged with threat of arson. Bryant's initial court hearing will be on October 27, 2025.
