Cambridge Man Arrested on Drug and Property Charges
Dorchester County, MD - On January 15, 2026, officers from the Cambridge Police Department responded to a residence on the 400 block of Charles Street. The response occurred at approximately 5:05 p.m. following a drug complaint at the location.
Upon arrival, officers contacted a complainant at the scene. The individual reported that Michael Damien Anderson, a 36-year-old Cambridge resident, was inside the home. It was stated that Anderson was dealing with substance abuse issues and had damaged items within the residence.
Officers entered the home and located Anderson in the living room area. A blue backpack was observed next to the couch near Anderson. The complainant identified the backpack as one used by Anderson, though it belonged to a 6-year-old child living in the house. The bag was noted to be in a location accessible to the child.
A search of the backpack revealed quantities of Heroin and Suboxone. The Heroin was discovered inside a Suboxone box prescribed to Anderson. Police noted the amount of heroin was consistent with distribution.
Attempts to place Anderson under arrest resulted in a struggle. Anderson reportedly pulled away from officers and resisted. He was eventually subdued and placed in a patrol vehicle. Reports indicate he remained non-compliant throughout the processing phase.
Anderson was transported to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections where he is held on a No Bond status. He has been charged with CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotic, CDS Possession Not Cannabis, CDS Possession Paraphernalia, Malicious Destruction of Property, Obstruct and Hindering, Failure to Obey Lawful Order, Resist Arrest, and Reckless Endangerment.
