Cambridge Man Arrested on Multiple Charges After Assaulting Several Patrons at Walmart

CAMBRIDGE, MD - The Cambridge Police Department arrested a 46-year-old man on multiple charges following a disturbance at a local Walmart that resulted in assaults on several patrons.
Christopher David Brown of Cambridge, Maryland, was taken into custody on September 8, 2025, at approximately 9:35 a.m. when he reported to the Cambridge Police Department for an unrelated incident. Brown was arrested and subsequently released on a $3,000 unsecured bond following his appearance in front of the District Court Commissioner.
The initial incident occurred on August 27, 2025, at approximately 2:10 p.m. when officers responded to Walmart regarding reports of a subject causing a disturbance and assaulting other customers. Multiple calls were received while officers were en route to the location.
Upon their arrival, officers found Brown being restrained by Walmart patrons. Brown appeared to be under the influence of substances or experiencing a mental health crisis at the time of the incident. Emergency Medical Services were requested to the scene for assistance.
Officers interviewed multiple patrons and employees who reported that Brown had exhibited erratic behavior, striking other customers and charging at others within the store. A Walmart patron assisted in preventing Brown from continuing the assaults by placing him on the ground, where he remained restrained until police arrival.
Video footage reviewed by officers confirmed Brown's erratic behavior and showed him assaulting several individuals in the store before being restrained. Brown refused medical treatment when EMS arrived on scene.
During transport to the Cambridge Police Department for processing, Brown caused damage to a patrol vehicle by kicking and bending the door of the police vehicle. A search of Brown revealed he was in possession of crack cocaine.
While being processed, Brown requested medical attention and was transported to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Cambridge for treatment. He was later transferred to Shock Trauma for a medical emergency.
Due to Brown's extended hospitalization, the Cambridge Police Department consulted with the Dorchester County State's Attorney's Office and had the initial charges entered as Nolle Prosequi.
Officers later completed an application for an arrest warrant, which was subsequently issued.
Brown was charged with the following:
- Assault in the Second Degree (three counts)
- CDS Possession Not Cannabis
- CDS Possession Paraphernalia
- Malicious Destruction of Property
