CAMBRIDGE MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE WARRANTS INCLUDING 2ND DEGREE RAPE

Cambridge, MD - On June 4, 2025, at approximately 2:02 p.m., officers from the Cambridge Police Department arrested 25-year-old Nazzir Jarrell Johnson, a resident of Cambridge, Maryland, on multiple outstanding warrants.


Following his arrest, Johnson was taken to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections, where he is currently being held without bond.


Details of the Warrants


Johnson was arrested based on two active warrants issued by the Dorchester County District Court:


  • Warrant 1: Bench warrant for violation of probation related to a previous charge of driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol.

The charges arise from an incident reported on April 27, 2025, in the 900 block of Camelia Street in Cambridge, Maryland. According to the police report, the victim stated that Johnson stayed overnight at their residence due to being homeless.


The victim reported that alcohol was consumed by all individuals present during the evening.


The victim stated that after everyone went to separate sleeping areas, however Johnson entered their room where the victim was sleeping. Shortly afterward, the victim fled, stating that they had been raped by Johnson.


Investigation by the Cambridge Police Department


Detectives from the Cambridge Police Department conducted a thorough investigation following the allegations. During this process, Johnson was interviewed. He confirmed that sexual intercourse occurred but claimed he was awakened by the victim.


Based on the investigation's findings, a Cambridge Police Department detective submitted the criminal charges related to this case.


Johnson remains in custody at the Dorchester County Department of Corrections and is being held without bond.
