Cambridge Man Charged Following Incident at WaWa
Cambridge, MD - On January 19, 2026, officers from the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) responded to a theft complaint. The incident occurred at the WaWa located in the 600 block of Sunburst Highway.
At approximately 11:22 p.m., officers arrived at the scene. Store employees directed police to the entrance and identified the suspect. The individual was identified as Raymond Chapelle King, a 54-year-old resident of Cambridge, Maryland.
Staff members reported that King placed food items inside his jacket. He allegedly left the store without paying for the merchandise. Officers stopped King and conducted a search of his person.
They recovered multiple food items belonging to WaWa. The search also revealed a smoking device containing crack cocaine.
King was issued criminal citations and released. He faces charges of Theft Less Than $100, CDS Possession Not Cannabis, and CDS Possession of Paraphernalia.
