Cambridge Man Charged with Theft at Walmart
Cambridge, MD - Cambridge Police Department officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at Walmart on January 1, 2026. Officers arrived at the scene at approximately 10:35 a.m. and received a description of the suspect from Asset Protection Officers.
Law enforcement personnel stationed outside the main entrance observed an individual matching the description leaving the store. Officers made contact with the subject, identified as 58-year-old Gerald Lamont Ervin of Cambridge, MD.
During the encounter, Ervin told officers that he "would put all of the items back."
Asset Protection Officers reported observing Ervin concealing merchandise within his clothing and a backpack. Officers recovered multiple items with a total value of $349.04.
Ervin was issued a Criminal Citation and released from the scene. He is charged with Theft $100 to Under $1,500.
