CAMBRIDGE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A CHILD ABDUCTION

Cambridge, MD - On April 22, 2024, at approximately 5:30 pm, the Cambridge Police Department began an investigation into a missing 10-year-old female and a 44-year-old female. 

Through their investigation, Cambridge Police found that the 10-year-old child was last seen on or about April 9, 2024, at approximately 3:30 pm around the 1200 block of Chestnut Place in Cambridge, Maryland. 

The main focus of the investigation stems from two individuals, who were identified as the following: 


  • Layla Aniya Bowser-Bowser is a 10-year-old African American Female. She is 5 feet tall and weighs 95 pounds. She has brown eyes and black shoulder-length hair that she normally wears in a ponytail or braids. She was last seen wearing a pink Yukie T-shirt.  

  • Sharese Pritchett-Pritchett is a 44-year-old African American Female. She is 5 foot 6 inches and weighs approximately 160 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair and was last seen wearing a blonde shoulder-length wig.

Pritchett is believed to be operating a black 2021 Ford Bronco with Georgia registration CBV8196.

Pritchett is a non-custodial family member of Bowser who did not have permission to take Bowser with her. 

Information has been obtained from family members that Pritchett may have traveled to the Washington DC or New York City, NY areas. 

The Cambridge Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation. If you have any information regarding Pritchett or Bowser's whereabouts, please contact the Cambridge Police Department or your local Law Enforcement agency.

 

4/24/2024 at 6:30 AM—The child has been located in New York City and is in the care of CPS, awaiting arrangements to be returned to the family in MD. Pritchett has also been located and is currently in the custody of NYPD, awaiting extradition back to MD to be served with an active District Court Arrest Warrant relating to this incident.
