CAMBRIDGE POLICE ARREST 17-YEAR OLD ON MULTIPLE CHARGES FOLLOWING JUNE 9 INCIDENT

Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department has announced the arrest of a 17-year-old male from Cambridge, Maryland, in connection with an incident that occurred on June 9, 2025.
The arrest took place on June 10, 2025, at approximately 5:07 p.m., and was executed based on an active arrest warrant issued by the Dorchester County District Court.
The suspect is being charged as an adult and has been taken to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections, where he is being held without bond. He faces several serious charges, including:
- Three counts of first-degree assault
- Three counts of second-degree assault
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony violent crime
- Possession of a handgun on his person
These charges stem from an incident that occurred near the intersection of Pine Street and Washington Street. According to police reports, the victim, who was a passenger in a vehicle at the time, stated that the suspect brandished a firearm and pointed it at their vehicle, which carried multiple occupants.
To evade the suspect, the vehicle's operator reportedly ran a red light, which led to a collision. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the crash, and the vehicle continued to another location after the incident. The Maryland State Police conducted an investigation into the motor vehicle collision.
The victim later identified the 17-year-old suspect, leading the Cambridge Police Department officers to file the charges.
