Cambridge Police Arrest 18-Year-Old in Sexual Assault Case

CAMBRIDGE, MD - Cambridge Police Department officers arrested an 18-year-old man following a sexual assault incident that occurred on September 1, 2025. The arrest took place after a comprehensive search involving multiple police units.


Officers responded to the 900 block of Wood Duck Drive in Cambridge, Maryland, at approximately 7:29 p.m. following reports of an attempted rape.


The female victim reported that Nazir Maki Perry, 18, of Cambridge, MD, had been speaking with her in her backyard when he began making statements of a sexual nature.


The victim told officers she informed Perry she was going inside her residence. When Perry requested to enter the home, she declined.


According to the victim's statement, Perry then forced his way into the residence, locked the door behind him, and began assaulting her while attempting to remove her clothing.


The victim reported that Perry partially removed her clothing and sexually assaulted her. She was able to escape by running to a neighboring residence to request help.


Cambridge Police Department's K9 Unit, assisted by patrol units and the drone unit, conducted an immediate search for Perry. During the search, a witness who was unaware of the incident reported to officers that they had provided Perry with transportation to his residence in the 100 block of Mariners Way.


The police drone unit located the residence where Perry had been dropped off and maintained surveillance until additional officers and the K9 unit arrived at the location. Perry was found inside the residence and placed under arrest.


Perry was transported to the Cambridge Police Department for processing, where detectives conducted further investigation. Following the completion of the investigation, Perry was processed and transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections with no bond set.


Perry was charged with the following:


  • Attempted 1st Degree Rape
  • Attempted 2nd Degree Rape
  • Assault 1st Degree
  • Assault 2nd Degree
  • Reckless Endangerment
  • False Imprisonment
