Cambridge Police Arrest A Man for DUI on a Bicycle

Cambridge, MD - On August 10, 2025, at approximately 3:04 PM, officers from the Cambridge Police Department conducted a traffic stop involving a bicycle on Washington Street near the WaWa store in Cambridge, Maryland.
The stop was initiated after the operator of the bicycle was observed traveling in the wrong direction, heading directly toward oncoming vehicles.
The operator was identified as Christian Nick Bearisto, a 29-year-old resident of Cambridge, Maryland. Upon making contact, officers noted signs that Bearisto appeared to be under the influence. Bearisto disclosed having used medications and smoking cannabis prior to the stop.
Following these observations, Bearisto agreed to undertake Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST), which he did not pass. He was subsequently placed under arrest.
During a search conducted incident to the arrest, officers discovered THC wax and a substance suspected to be heroin in Bearisto's possession.
Bearisto was released shortly after with traffic citations. Additional charges are pending based on the results of laboratory analysis of the controlled dangerous substances found in his possession.
Bearisto has been charged with the following violations:
- Driving a Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs, Unable to Drive Safely
- Driving a Vehicle While Impaired by a Controlled Dangerous Substance
- Refusal to Submit to CDS Testing
