Cambridge Police Arrest Local Woman for Walmart Theft

CAMBRIDGE, MD - Cambridge Police Department officers arrested a local woman following a theft incident at Walmart on October 5, 2025. The arrest occurred after officers responded to reports of shoplifting at the retail location.


Officers received the initial call at approximately 3:44 p.m. regarding the theft incident. Store personnel provided police with a description of the suspect's vehicle and the direction of travel following the alleged crime.


Police reviewed surveillance footage from Walmart that showed the suspect removing merchandise from the store without making payment. The video evidence assisted officers in identifying the individual involved in the incident.


Additional Cambridge Police Department officers located the suspect's vehicle in the Woods Crossing parking lot shortly after the initial report. The suspect was found with the vehicle at that location.


Police identified the suspect as Dawn Kajuana Nellie Jones, a 39-year-old Cambridge, Maryland resident. Jones was processed at the scene and issued a criminal citation for the offense.


Jones was released following the citation process. She faces one charge of theft involving merchandise valued between $100 and $1,500. The case will proceed through the local court system according to standard procedures.
