CAMBRIDGE POLICE HAVE A BUSY WEEK WITH ARREST WARRANTS

Cambridge, Maryland - Cambridge Police have been very proactive in taking wanted individuals off the streets, as they've had a busy week with warrant arrests. 

On February 5, 2024, at approximately 2:52 pm, Cambridge Police Officers arrested Amanda LaShelle Davis (36 years old from Cambridge, MD) on an active Talbot County District Court Bench Warrant.  The warrant was for Failing to Appear in court on January 17, 2024, on an original charge of Driving on a Suspended License.  Davis was taken to the District Court Commissioner, where she was released on her personal recognizance.

Later in the day, at approximately 5:15 pm, Cambridge Police Officers arrested Jerome Allen Nicholas 3rd, a 43-year-old man from Baltimore, MD on an active Wicomico County District Court Warrant.  The warrant was for Failing to Appear in court on December 5, 2023 on an original charge of Failure to Have a Certificate of Number Available for Inspection through the Department of Natural Resources Police.  Nicholas was later released on his personal recognizance.

The following day, on February 6, 2024, at approximately 11:45 am, Cambridge Police Officers arrested Cayla Jan Sherman-Hardesty, a 27-year-old woman from Cambridge, MD on an active Harford County District Court Bench Warrant.  The warrant was for Failing to Appear in Court on January 25, 2024, on an original charge of CDS Possession Not Cannabis.  

Sherman-Hardesty was located during a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Washington St and Pine St.  A Cambridge Police K9 Drug sniffing dog was requested to the scene to conduct a sniff of the vehicle for the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS).  The K9 sniff resulted in a positive alert.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, CDS paraphernalia relating to Heroin and Crack Cocaine consumption was located in a purse.  Sherman-Hardesty was placed under arrest and transported to Cambridge Police Department for processing and her initial appearance before a Court Commissioner.  Sherman-Hardesty was issued Criminal Citations for the CDS violations and was released on a $3,000.00 unsecured bond on the Bench Warrant.  

Sherman-Hardesty was charged with the following on Criminal Citations:


  • CDS Possession Paraphernalia (3 counts)

On February 7, 2024, at approximately 1:59 am, Cambridge Police Officers arrested Tavon Aaron Corbin-Stanley, 31 years old from Cambridge, MD, on an active Dorchester County District Court Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in Court on July 11, 2022, on an original charge of Driving on a Suspended License.  Corbin-Stanley was later released on his personal recognizance.

That same day, at approximately 1:21 pm, Cambridge Police Officers arrested Makayla Nicole Johnson, 23 years old from Cambridge, MD, on an active Dorchester County District Court Bench Warrant for Violation or Probation on an original charge of Assault 2nd Degree.  Johnson was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on No Bond.

An hour and a half later, at approximately 2:54 pm, Cambridge Police Officers arrested Shawretha Lindel Wangus, 47 years old from Cambridge, MD, on an active Dorchester County District Court Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in court on August 22, 2022, on an original charge of Theft Less Than $100.00.  Wangus was later released on her personal recognizance.
