Cambridge Police Investigate Attempted Vehicle Theft on Pine Street

Cambridge, MD - Cambridge Police Department (CPD) officers responded to a report of an attempted vehicle theft in the 700 block of Pine Street. The response occurred at approximately 8:02 a.m. on January 20, 2026.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim regarding their 2011 Hyundai Sonata. It was reported that the vehicle had been broken into. Officers observed damage to a window where access was gained to the vehicle's interior. Damage was also noted on the steering column.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 8:00 a.m. on January 19, 2026, and 7:50 a.m. on January 20, 2026. No suspects have been identified at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation. The Cambridge Police Department is requesting assistance from the community.
