Cambridge Police Investigate Bank Robbery on Sunburst Highway

Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred on October 22, 2025, at the M&T Bank located in the 400 block of Sunburst Highway. Officers and detectives responded to the scene at approximately 11:12 a.m. following reports of the incident.

According to the investigation, a middle-aged African American male entered the bank wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with colorful writing on the front. The subject approached a bank teller and presented a note demanding money. The teller complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of United States currency.

After receiving the money, the suspect fled the premises on foot and entered a vehicle parked at a nearby business closer to Dorchester Avenue. The vehicle, described as a dark-colored Toyota Camry or Honda Civic with dark wheels and a possible Delaware registration, departed on Dorchester Avenue heading toward Washington Street.

Bank employees placed a tracking device in the money given to the suspect. The device indicated a location near Woods Road and Route 50. Officers conducted a search of the area and recovered a discarded bundle of currency.

Investigators believe the suspect may be connected to recent bank robberies in Hurlock, Maryland, and Seaford, Delaware.
