Cambridge Police Investigate Series of Related Vehicle Thefts

Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) is currently investigating a series of vehicle thefts that occurred between February 10 and February 12, 2026. 

Authorities believe these incidents involve the same offenders and are requesting assistance from the community.

On the morning of February 10, CPD officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on the 300 block of West End Avenue in Cambridge, Maryland. The victim reported that a blue 2018 Kia Optima with Maryland registration was taken from the location. 

The theft reportedly occurred between 9 p.m. on February 9 and 6 a.m. on February 10. No suspects were identified at the time.

Later that morning, the Easton Police Department (EPD) contacted CPD regarding the stolen vehicle. EPD officers recovered the Kia Optima in the 700 block of Dover Street. 

At the same time, EPD reported a second theft in the immediate area involving a red 2018 Hyundai Tucson with Maryland registration.

On the night of February 12, CPD officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle on the 800 block of Allen Street. Upon arrival, officers observed two males fleeing the scene on foot. 

Officers located a 14-year-old female juvenile inside the vehicle, which was identified as the stolen Hyundai Tucson from Easton. EPD officers arrived on the scene and took custody of the juvenile.
