Cambridge Police Investigate Shooting on Greenwood Ave

CAMBRIDGE, MD - On the evening of December 9, 2025, at approximately 9:07 p.m., Cambridge Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Greenwood Avenue in Cambridge, Maryland. The response was prompted by a ShotSpotter alert and several 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area.

Upon arrival, officers observed a number of individuals leaving the scene. Shortly after, police were informed that a male victim with a gunshot wound had been privately transported to a local hospital emergency room.

Officers secured the crime scene on Greenwood Avenue, where they collected several pieces of evidence.

At the hospital, officers made contact with the victim, who was being treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.

According to police, the victim provided limited information regarding the incident. However, detectives are analyzing surveillance footage from the area to help identify potential suspects and determine the sequence of events.
