Cambridge Police Recover Stolen Vehicle; Juvenile Suspect Referred To Juvenile Services

Cambridge, MD - On July 16, 2025, at approximately 1:58 pm, Cambridge Police Department Officers on patrol in the area of Park Lane observed a vehicle run a stop sign on Skinners St at Park Ln. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle when it failed to stop and continued to Greenwood Ave.
Officers were able to observe the tag number of the vehicle on Greenwood Ave, which the vehicle came back reported recently stolen out of Easton, Maryland.
The vehicle continued to attempt to flee where the vehicle did not stop at the stop sign on Greenwood Ave and Washington St and went straight across the roadway crashing in a driveway.
Officers contacted the sole occupant, 16-year-old male juvenile from Easton, Maryland. Due to injuries that the juvenile obtained, caused by his actions, he was transported by Dorchester County EMS to Maryland State Police Aviation and flown to Shock Trauma.
The male juvenile was later released early in the morning from Shock Trauma to a parent / guardian.
The juvenile was found to be in possession of Cannabis. The juvenile was also found to not possess a driver's license. The juvenile has been referred to the Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) on the following charges:
- Possession of Cannabis Under 21 Years Old
- Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign (3 counts)
- Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device (3 counts)
- Attempting to Flee and Elude In a Vehicle
- Failure to Pull to Curb for Police Vehicle
- Driving Without a License
- Reckless Driving
- Negligent Driving
- Speed Greater than Reasonable
- Failure to Control Speed to Avoid Collision
The stolen vehicle charges will be handled by the Easton Police Department.
