Cambridge, MD - On the afternoon of July 11, 2025, at approximately 3:27 PM, officers from the Cambridge Police Department served a Criminal Summons on Donnessa Jackson, a 58-year-old resident of Cambridge, Maryland. Jackson faces a charge of Second-Degree Assault.

The charge relates to an incident that occurred on April 1, 2025, in the 1100 block of Maces Lane. According to the complainant, their juvenile child, a student at Maces Lane Middle School, was allegedly assaulted by Jackson, who is a staff member at the school.

The complainant reported that Jackson had physically grabbed the juvenile by the back of the neck.

Following the incident, the complainant alerted school officials, prompting an internal investigation. A review of video footage by school personnel reportedly did not corroborate the allegation.

However, an independent investigation conducted by Child Protective Services (CPS) determined that the claim was substantiated. Subsequently, the complainant pursued legal action by filing charges with the Court Commissioner.

The case remains under investigation, and additional updates will be provided as they become available.
