Cambridge Teen Shot on Wednesday Night, Flown to Shock Trauma
Cambridge, MD - On February 18, 2026, at approximately 6:18 PM, the Cambridge Police Department was dispatched to the 700 block of High Street, between Washington Street and Lincoln Terrace, in Cambridge, Maryland, following a "Shot Spotter" alert that reported multiple gunshots fired.
While officers were on their way to the scene, they received information that a person had been shot. EMS had been dispatched to the call as well and requested to stage until the scene was safe.
Upon Cambridge Police Officers arriving at the scene, they found a 17-year-old juvenile male from Cambridge, Maryland, suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen.
The victim was transported by Dorchester County EMS to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Cambridge and was subsequently airlifted to Shock Trauma by Maryland State Police Aviation.
Officers at the scene discovered multiple spent shell casings and identified a residence that had been damaged by gunfire.
Currently, there is no information regarding suspects.
This investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Cambridge Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
