Cambridge Woman Charged with Arson Threat Following Willis Street Incident

Cambridge, MD - On February 5, 2026, officers from the Cambridge Police Department served a criminal summons to a local resident. Edna Mae Phippin, 69, of Cambridge, Maryland, was served at approximately 8:58 a.m. She has been formally charged with Arson Threat.

The charges stem from an incident that took place earlier in the week on February 1, 2026. At approximately 3:13 p.m., Cambridge Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 10 block of Willis Street. Police were called to the scene regarding a subject who was refusing to vacate the property.

Officers made contact with the complainant at the location. The complainant reported that Phippin had made statements about burning the house.

Following the investigation, officers applied for charges with the Court Commissioner, resulting in the criminal summons served on Thursday morning.
