Car Rally Task Force Disrupts Illegal Car Rallies Across The National Capital Region
State of MD - The Maryland State Police Car Rally Task Force, along with partner law enforcement agencies, successfully prevented and dismantled multiple large-scale illegal car rallies last night, February 21, 2026, in the U.S. National Capital Region (NCR).
Coordinated law enforcement efforts and early intervention were deployed in Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, and Howard counties to disrupt several illegal gatherings.
This operation began at 10 p.m. and continued until 4:00 a.m. High-visibility enforcement and patrols throughout the region successfully prevented crowds of up to 300 participants from engaging in exhibition driving, disorderly conduct, and roadway shutdowns.
The Task Force monitored and enforced operations in the following locations:
- 15606 Emerald Way, Bowie, Maryland
- 6210 Allentown Road, Camp Springs, Maryland
- 8582 Fenton Street, Silver Spring, Maryland
- 9500 Marlboro Pike, Upper Marlboro, Maryland
- 6050 Fallard Drive, Upper Marlboro, Maryland
- 7705 Connecticut Avenue, Chevy Chase, Maryland
- 2600 Marble Court, Forestville, Maryland
- 1415 Magellan Road, Hanover, Maryland
In Camp Springs, Maryland State Troopers arrested the driver and passenger of a black Dodge Charger.
The driver was identified as Jossel Joan Maldonado Sanabria, 19, from Fayetteville, North Carolina, and his passenger was a 17-year-old from Falls Church, Virginia.
Both were charged with possession of a loaded firearm and taken to the Prince George's County Detention Center for processing.
