CAROLINE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPOINT FREEMAN AS COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR AND FOX AS DEPUTY

Caroline County, MD - The Caroline County Commissioners proudly announce the well-deserved promotions of two longstanding and accomplished professionals within the county government. Katheleen Freeman, formerly the Director of Planning and Codes, has been appointed as the County Administrator. Daniel Fox, who serves as the Finance Director, has been appointed as the Deputy Administrator. Both appointments were effective, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Katheleen Freeman, a local County resident and dedicated professional with 17 years of service in Caroline County Government, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in land use policies and implementation to her new role. Over her tenure in Caroline County, Ms. Freeman has been instrumental in advocating for crucial projects and policies within the community. Ms. Freeman holds a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies and Political Science from the University of California, and a Master's in Environmental Sciences from Long Island University.

Residing in Denton since 1999, Ms. Freeman is deeply invested in Caroline County and possesses a profound understanding of its dynamics. Alongside her professional commitments, she and her husband have enjoyed raising their two kids in our community.

Daniel Fox brings a robust financial background and a deep understanding of fiscal operations to his new role as Deputy Administrator. He holds a Master's degree in Accounting from Wilmington University. With a keen eye for financial management, his expertise has been instrumental in ensuring Caroline County's fiscal stability. In his 7 years with the Caroline County Office of Finance, Mr. Fox has demonstrated exemplary financial stewardship and strategic financial planning, laying a solid foundation for the county's economic well-being. Although stepping into a new role, Mr. Fox will still remain the Director of the Caroline County Office of Finance, where he oversees the County's budget.

In addition to his professional dedication, Mr. Fox is deeply committed to community service. He has been an active member of the local fire company for 15 years, generously giving his time and expertise to ensure the safety and well-being of the community. Mr. Fox and his fiancé Katey, along with their two-year-old son Marshall, reside in Hartly, Delaware.

The Caroline County Commissioners have expressed their utmost confidence in Katheleen Freeman's and Daniel Fox's ability to lead Caroline County forward.
