CAROLINE COUNTY FIRE DESTROYS BRICK BARN

Caroline County, MD-A devastating fire occurred in Caroline County on April 19, 2024. The structure, a brick barn located in the 26000 block of Boyce Mill Rd in Greensboro, Maryland, caught fire at approximately 12:15 p.m. 

A passerby discovered the fire and quickly alerted the Greensboro Fire Department.

The fire, which originated from within the barn's interior, has been said to be accidental, possibly caused by an electrical event in the area of the circuit panel box. 

Firefighters arrived at the scene, and despite the severity of the fire, the team managed to get it under control within 20 minutes. A total of 24 firefighters were on scene responding to the alarm.

The incident has resulted in a significant loss for the property owners, with an estimated structural loss of $75,000 and a further $50,000 loss in contents.
