CAROLINE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE IS INVESTIGATING AN ATTEMPTED MURDER THAT OCCURRED IN FEDERALSBURG

Caroline County, MD - The Caroline County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted murder that occurred in Federalsburg, Maryland, at the request of the Federalsburg Police Department. The incident took place on Monday, May 19, 2025, at approximately 11:47 a.m., and has led to the arrest of two individuals.
A 16-year-old juvenile has been arrested and is facing adult charges, including Attempted First-Degree Murder and Attempted Second-Degree Murder, among other serious offenses. The juvenile is currently detained at the Caroline County Detention Center without bond.
Additionally, Franky O. Florestal, a 29-year-old resident of Federalsburg, Maryland, has been charged with two counts of Accessory After the Fact to Attempted First-Degree Murder. He was initially held without bond however on the bond review with Judge James McKinney, he was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal bond.
The initial response to the incident involved the Seaford Police Department in Delaware after a 20-year-old female victim was found at Tidal Health Nanticoke Hospital with multiple stab wounds.
Investigations indicate that her injuries were sustained during an altercation in a parking lot in Federalsburg, Maryland, allegedly inflicted by the juvenile suspect.
After the attack, the suspects reportedly transported the victim to the hospital and then fled the scene. Fortunately, although her injuries were considered life-threatening, the victim is now in stable condition.
