He was also sentenced to a concurrent 10-year term for the firearm offense, with five of those years being without the possibility of parole.
For the First-Degree Assault charge, Holbrook received a 25-year sentence, with all but 10 years suspended, to also run concurrently. These active sentences will be followed by five years of supervised probation. Any violations during this period could result in additional portions of the sentences being enforced.
Holbrook pled guilty on June 4, 2025, following consultations with the victims' families. He had been held in custody while awaiting sentencing.
Incidents Leading to the Charges
On the night of April 15, 2023, Holbrook, along with others, sought to locate the victim at Pizza City on Carroll Street in Salisbury, Maryland. This was reportedly in retaliation for a video posted earlier that evening by a companion of the victim, which was interpreted as a challenge in an ongoing gang conflict.
Early in the morning of April 16, Holbrook and his associates located the victim at Pizza City and fatally shot him.
The second incident occurred during the late hours of July 4, 2023, at a neighborhood party on Chippewa Boulevard. Holbrook attempted to fire an AK-47 during a gang-related altercation in the early hours of July 5.
However, the weapon malfunctioned before it could be used.
