CENTREVILLE MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH DOMESTIC ASSAULT IN EASTON

Talbot County, MD - On May 29, 2025, the Talbot County Sheriff's Office investigated a domestic assault, which took place in Easton, Maryland. Deputies were dispatched to the 25000 block of Royal Oak Road, where they found a victim with visible injuries consistent with an assault.


The suspect, identified as Richard Traver Dunkerly Jr., a 27-year-old resident of Centreville, MD, had fled the scene before authorities arrived. Thanks to the quick collaboration between the Talbot County Sheriff's Office and the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office, Dunkerly was located, apprehended and subsequently handed over to Talbot County deputies.


After his arrest, Dunkerly was transported to the Talbot County Central Booking facility, where he was processed and had an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.


He was charged with both first- and second-degree assault. Notably, the Commissioner released Dunkerly on his own personal recognizance.
