Chestertown Man Arrested for Carjacking and DUI Following Vehicle Theft Investigation

CHESTERTOWN - A local man faces multiple charges including carjacking and driving under the influence after deputies responded to a vehicle theft report on Rolphs Wharf Road.
On August 17 at approximately 8:49 p.m., deputies were dispatched to investigate a reported vehicle theft that had just occurred. Deputy First Class Kendall arrived at the scene at 8:56 p.m. and located the stolen vehicle parked and running in the middle of the road.
Dispatch had advised that the driver may have exited the vehicle. As DFC Kendall began to pass the vehicle to search for the operator, the vehicle started moving forward behind his patrol car.
