Chicken House Fire in Dorchester County Now Ruled an Arson
Rhodesdale, MD - A chicken house fire that occurred in Dorchester County on November 4, 2025, has been officially ruled as arson by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
The fire was reported at 9:37 p.m. at a property on the 5900 block of Cokesbury Road in Rhodesdale. Upon arrival, firefighters found a 500-by-40-foot chicken house engulfed in flames.
The Eldorado Brookview Volunteer Fire Department, along with surrounding departments, responded to the two-alarm blaze. A total of 60 firefighters worked for approximately 90 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Following an investigation, Deputy State Fire Marshals have determined the fire was intentionally set. Investigators are now seeking assistance from the public. They are asking residents in the area to review any residential camera footage for suspicious persons or vehicles around the time of the fire.
"Any little bit of information and additional video footage may assist investigators in determining who was responsible for setting this fire," officials stated.
