Chicken House Fire in Marydel Under Investigation
Queen Anne's County, MD - On November 22, 2025, at approximately 2:10 a.m., a Chicken House fire broke out in the 3000 block of Barclay Road in Marydel, Queen Anne's County, Maryland.
The Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company was the primary responding department. A total of 50 firefighters responded to the single-alarm chicken house fire, which was discovered by a passerby who contacted 911. It took approximately one and a half hours to bring the fire under control.
The structure, a 60' by 600' chicken house, sustained an estimated $300,000 in damages to the structure and its contents.
The chicken house was unoccupied at the time, and no chickens were harmed.
The cause of the Chicken House fire is currently under investigation, with the area of origin identified as the interior of the chicken house.
