Salisbury, Maryland - The City of Salisbury is tracking the inclement weather that is forecast for the weekend and is prepared to deal with any issues that arise no matter what type of precipitation we receive in the area.

"We will be prepared to close anything not safe to travel and to communicate those closures to the public," Director of Field Operations Mike Dryden said. "It will just be a waiting game to see what kind of precipitation we get and how that affects the roads. But we have crews on call all weekend."

Forecasts are currently predicting rain in Salisbury and the surrounding areas. However, large amounts of rain could produce flooding in some areas due to tidal influence. Residents should be hyper-alert in flooding problem areas including Northwood and Fitzwater.

The City will also be in communication with the Maryland Department of Transportation about any potential closures of Route 13 and will pass those on through our communications channels.

The Field Operations staff is also putting salt beds back on the dump trucks that have been used to pick up trash to be prepared to salt the roads in case temperatures are lower than currently forecast.
