CITY OF SALISBURY TO HONOR GREG BASSETT WITH ROUNDABOUT RENAMING

Wicomico County, MD - The City of Salisbury, along with the Greater Salisbury Committee and community members, will honor the significant contributions of the late Greg Bassett by renaming a downtown roundabout in his memory.
The roundabout, located at the intersection of Riverside Drive, West Carroll Street, and Mill Street in Downtown Salisbury, will be officially designated as Greg Bassett Circle. This dedication celebrates Bassett's lasting impact as a leader, journalist, and community advocate.
The unveiling ceremony is scheduled for Monday, April 28, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees will gather to commemorate Bassett's unwavering service and reflect on his legacy of storytelling, civic involvement, and leadership through his work with the Greater Salisbury Committee.
Mayor Randy Taylor expressed pride in the initiative, stating, "We are proud to honor Greg Bassett's legacy in a way that will forever remind residents and visitors of the impact one individual can have. His passion for the community and commitment to Salisbury set a powerful example."
The event is open to the public, with viewing available from nearby non-permitted parking lots. Everyone is invited to join in paying tribute to a remarkable figure whose contributions have significantly shaped the heart of Salisbury.
