Salisbury, MD - The City of Salisbury has announced the removal of temporary speed bumps in the Downtown Salisbury Parking Garage, a decision aimed at improving accessibility and traffic flow ahead of the upcoming event season.

These speed bumps were initially implemented to address speeding issues during the garage's construction phase. As construction comes to a close and with enhanced safety protocols now in place, city officials have determined that removing the speed bumps is feasible.

To ensure safety, new "Reduce Speed" signs will be installed in place of the speed bumps. This decision is part of the city's broader efforts to enhance visitor experiences while promoting safe driving practices.

Mayor Randy Taylor expressed enthusiasm for this change, recognizing it as a step toward smoother navigation for visitors without compromising safety.

"We're excited to remove these temporary measures as we approach a vibrant event season. With safety at the forefront, we're proud to have reached a point where we can prioritize smoother navigation while still ensuring a safe environment for our workers and patrons," Taylor stated.

The work to remove the speed bumps is scheduled to begin the week of April 21. This initiative is part of Salisbury's commitment to making its downtown area more accessible and enjoyable.

City officials appreciate the patience of visitors during the construction period and are eager to welcome them back for a bustling season of events.
