Community Players of Salisbury to Present Stephen King’s ‘Misery’
Salisbury, MD - The Community Players of Salisbury have announced their upcoming production of Misery. This psychological thriller is written by William Goldman and is based on the bestselling novel by Stephen King. The show is scheduled to run from January 30 through February 8 in Salisbury, Maryland.
Directed by Devin La Femina, the narrative follows Paul Sheldon, a successful romance novelist. After surviving a car crash, Sheldon is rescued by Annie Wilkes, a woman who identifies herself as his "number one fan." He soon realizes that he has not been brought to safety, but rather has awakened in captivity.
As Sheldon recovers in Wilkes's secluded home, she reads his latest book. She becomes furious upon discovering that he has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain.
Wilkes demands that Sheldon write a new novel on her terms. It quickly becomes clear that she has no intention of letting him leave. The production is described as a masterclass in suspense and survival, packed with edge-of-your-seat twists.
The production will take place at the Community Players of Salisbury Theater, located at 5109 Nutters Cross Rd, Salisbury, MD 21804. The show has a running time of 120 minutes and is rated PG-16+.
Performances are scheduled for the weekends of January 30 and February 6. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 PM, while Sunday matinees start at 2:00 PM. Tickets are available for purchase online.
