Cooking Fire in Second Story Apartment Displaces Occupant in Cambridge, Maryland

Cambridge, MD - The Rescue Fire Department responded to a report of a cooking fire at a second-story apartment located at 739 Pine Street in Cambridge, Maryland on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident was classified as a single-alarm fire, requiring the efforts of seven firefighters. Emergency personnel were able to bring the fire under control within 20 minutes.
The fire originated in the kitchen area and was determined to have been caused accidentally as a result of unattended cooking. The estimated property loss is reported to be $500.
The occupant of the residence discovered the fire and has since been displaced. Assistance is being provided by the American Red Cross.
