Berlin, MD-Following a two-month restoration project, the county boat ramp and parking lot at South Point, off MD Rt. 611 in Berlin is once again open to the public. Worcester County Recreation and Parks contractors have successfully completed the refurbishment of the bulkheads.

The much-needed developments were made possible thanks to the generous funding from Waterway Improvement Grants. These grants were supplied by both the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Worcester County, demonstrating a solid commitment to improving local recreational amenities.

This initiative is a testament to the local government's dedication to maintaining and enhancing the county's natural resources, ensuring they remain accessible and enjoyable for all residents and visitors.

While the boat ramp is once again available, residents and visitors can anticipate further improvements. A project to overlay the parking lot has been tentatively penciled in for the summer of 2024 as part of an ongoing commitment to ensure these spaces provide a welcoming and user-friendly environment.

For further information about the completed project or upcoming improvements, residents are encouraged to contact Worcester County Parks Superintendent Jacob Stephens at (410) 632-2144.
