DELAWARE MAN ARRESTED FOR DUI AND FELONY DRUG OFFENSES
Seaford, DE - A Seaford, Delaware man has been arrested for DUI and a series of felony drug offenses.
Jeremy Ferrell, a 41-year-old resident of Bridgeville, Delaware, was taken into police custody following a routine traffic stop. He was found to be driving under the influence with expired tags on his black Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The incident occurred on September 6, 2024, at 11:48 PM, when a state trooper on patrol spotted Ferrell's vehicle on Sussex Highway, northbound near Concord Road in Seaford. A computer check of the Chevrolet's Delaware license plate revealed it was expired.
Upon stopping and engaging with Ferrell, the trooper noted several signs of impairment consistent with drug influence. Following the administration of the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Ferrell was detained without any further incident.
A subsequent search of the Chevrolet conducted by the police found approximately 14.53 grams of methamphetamine, contained in seven separate bags, along with various drug-related paraphernalia. Items such as a digital scale, materials for drug packaging and distribution, glass pipes, and cut straws were among the findings.
Ferrell was charged with multiple felonies at Troop 5 and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $9,620 secured bond.
The charges include Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance Tier 2 Quantity, Possession of a Controlled Substance Tier 2 Quantity, Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Expired Tags.
