DELAWARE STATE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A FATAL CRASH IN SUSSEX COUNTY

Sussex County, DE - On May 16, 2025, a motor vehicle crash took place on Hollymount Road near Angola, Delaware, resulting in the loss of life and leaving the community in mourning. The Delaware State Police are actively investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 48-year-old man from Millsboro, Delaware.
Their investigating has found that a Nissan Sentra was traveling southbound on Hollymount Road, a well-known route for many locals. Unexpectedly, the vehicle veered into the northbound shoulder, colliding with one of two commercial flatbed trailers that were parked partially on the shoulder and in the grass.
The impact was severe enough to push one trailer into another, leading to the tragic outcome for the driver of the Sentra. Tragically, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The gravity of the situation required the closure of Hollymount Road for approximately three and a half hours as the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit carefully examined the scene to gather information about the sequence of events that took place.
